Prohibited Photographing of Detainees and Degrading Use of their Pictures

In a letter to the Military Advocate General dated 30 November 2006, HaMoked exposes an alarming phenomenon which has taken root among Israeli soldiers: Soldiers take photographs of Palestinian detainees during military operations as a form of amusement. In the letter, HaMoked demands disciplinary action be taken against those responsible for taking the photos and clear guidelines be disseminated among the soldiery strictly forbidding taking photos of persons arrested or detained.
