Following HaMoked’s letter: the military notified that stay permits of Israelis living with their families in Gaza will be renewed automatically until April 13, 2020

On March 23, 2020, HaMoked wrote to the military regarding Israeli residents and citizens who live in the Gaza Strip with their families and whose stay permits for Gaza expired or are about to expire. HaMoked requested that the military clarify whether it would automatically renew the permits of those belonging to this population who are currently in Gaza and therefore cannot get their permits renewed following the closing of Erez Crossing (as a measure against the spread of the coronavirus).

On April 1, 2020, the military responded that the permits of all Israeli ID holders staying in the Gaza Strip pursuant to the “divided families’ criterion would be automatically extended until April 13, 2020. Before the end of this period, the military would consider the need for a further extension.
