On the night of October 6, 2015, Israeli military and police forces arrived at the East Jerusalem Neighborhood of Jabal al-Mukabber, and detonated the family home of the assailant who perpetrated the attack at the synagogue in Har Nof, Jerusalem in November 2014. The demolition of the house caused substantial damage to adjacent apartments; this, despite the state’s undertaking – in the framework of HaMoked’s petition to revoke the demolition order, which was
dismissed by the court on December 31, 2014 – to take steps to minimize attendant damages during the demolition.
In the same neighborhood, another apartment was demolished, in which lived the tractor driver who perpetrated a ramming attack in the city in August 2014. The security forces also sealed the room in which lived the shooter of right-wing activist Yehuda Glick, located in his parents’ house in the Jerusalem Neighborhood of Abu Tur. It should be noted that initially the state sought to demolish the entire house, but following an
order nisi issued by the High Court of Justice (HCJ) in HaMoked’s petition, the state revised its position and decided to only seal the shooter’s room and leave the rest of the house intact.
