On July 28, 2014,
the military rejected HaMoked's objections against the intended demolitions of the three homes in Hebron – the family homes of two fugitives who have been missing from their homes since the recent abduction and killing of three Israelis, and a third man, suspected to have aided them. However, the military stated that the apartment of one of the fugitives' family would be sealed rather than demolished. In its responses to the objections, the military announced that the sealing and demolitions would take place on July 31, 2014, at 9:00 a.m.
Yesterday, July 29, 2014, HaMoked requested the military to defer execution of the orders, to allow HaMoked to petition the High Court of Justice (HCJ). Additionally,
HaMoked inquired how the military intended to carry out the demolitions, by using explosives or otherwise; and demanded to receive the competent opinion on which the military based its claim that no damage was anticipated to the rest of the structure or to adjacent structures as a result demolishing the apartment in which one of the fugitives’ nuclear family had lived.
The military agreed to postpone the sealing and demolitions until July 31, 2014, at 18:00, in consideration of Eid al Fitr now being celebrated, but refused to accept HaMoked's additional demands.
