The Permit Regime: Human Rights Violations in West Bank Areas Known as the "Seam Zone"

Report by HaMoked on the permit regime conducted by the Israeli military in the areas of the West Bank trapped between the separation wall and the Green Line (the 1949 Armistice border). While these territories, described by Israel as "the Seam Zone", are an inseparable part of the West Bank, any Palestinian living in them or wishing to enter them must receive, in advance, a permit from the military in order to do so. The report addresses the legality, application and ramifications of the permit regime, and is largely based on research conducted between 2009-2012 in agricultural areas in the northern West Bank.
