Judgment in a petition by a Palestinian from the village of Sur Bahir to instruct the Ministry of Interior to give back the 500 dunums of agricultural land it had expropriated from him in 1970 for "public purposes" in order to "build, develop and populate Jerusalem by constructing new residential districts". The petition is dismissed. The justices rule that the expropriation was performed legally, and dismiss the petitioner's claim it should be canceled following the land's reallocation to forest planting. The court also orders the petitioner to pay the respondents ILS 3,000 in trial costs.
