Letter to the Legal Advisor for the West Bank regarding the removal of the "Inactive" tag from Identity Card
HaMoked's letter to the military legal advisor for the West Bank, demanding to remove the "inactive" tag from the identity card of a Palestinian serving life in a prison inside Israel. In the original Palestinian population registry, the man is duly listed without any reservation. HaMoked demands the "inactive" tag be removed from the man's entry in the Israeli copy of the Palestinian population registry. HaMoked questions the legal foundation for this tagging and in particular, the claim that this person "is not considered a Palestinian resident", although it is clear and evident that this is an OPT resident, who, as stated, is listed in the population registry.
