The Order on the Prevention of Infiltration (Amendment No. 2) and the Order on Security Provisions (Amendment No. 112) – Response

Response by the Military Legal Advisor for the West Bank to HaMoked's letter regarding the Order on the Prevention of Infiltration and the Order on Security Provisions. The legal adviser states he has not deemed it necessary to revoke the legal amendments or postpone their entry into force. He states that people born in the West Bank are not considered "infiltrators"; that punishment in this area has not been toughened, but rather alleviated; there should not be any Palestinians in the West Bank who have been living there for many years without a permit, "because they will have received status in the area already"; a person against whom an expulsion order has been issued can address the judicial council within 72 hours of the order's issue, during which he will not be expelled; and that there is no right to appeal decisions to another court.
