Temporary Detention Facility for Detainees from the Gaza Strip Letter to the Head of the International Law Division in the Military Advocate General's Office

HaMoked appealed to the Head of the International Law Division in the office of the Military Advocate General requesting information about the exact location and nature of a new detention facility the military has set up for Palestinian detainees on the border of the Gaza Strip and permission to visit it promptly. Press reports reveal that the facility is used for holding Palestinians who have been arrested recently, during military activity in the Strip. HaMoked demands to know, inter alia, whether the facility has been announced as a detention facility in accordance with the law, what the conditions of detention in it are, what the maximum number of detainees held in it is and what the maximum length of time for holding detainees in the facility is.
