I. Scobbie, "Smoke, mirrors and killer whales: the International Court's opinion on the Israeli barrier wall" 5 German Law Journal No. 9 (1 September 2004)
The article criticizes the ICJ's advisory opinion regarding the wall. The author claims that the Court's methods and the desire to reach unanimity led to incomplete reasoning and to the fact that some of the issues discussed in the opinion itself are not reflected in the final decision. However, on some important issues, such as Israel's obligations under humanitarian law and human rights law, the opinion provides well grounded conclusions. From the German Law Journal website
