HCJ 5100/94 Public Committee Against Torture in Israel et al. v. Government of Israel et al. Judgment

The HCJ rejected a Contempt of Court application human rights organizations, including HaMoked, have filed against the Prime Minister and the Israel Security Agency in the framework of the 1999 torture petition. In a brief judgment, the court expresses doubt as to the organizations' claims about the judgment's violation and the continued use of interrogation methods including torture and abuse against "terror suspects", and determines that they provided insufficient foundation for establishing their claims, The court also criticizes the threats directed at the state and its agents of taking proceedings in foreign courts over their ascribed offences.
