Overcrowding and inappropriate treatment at the entrance to the population registry bureau in East Jerusalem

HaMoked contacted the interior ministry demanding immediate action to improve the unbearable conditions and humiliating treatment suffered by those arriving to receive the services of the population registry bureau in East Jerusalem. HaMoked has been cautioning for two years that residents who come to the bureau must stand in line for extended periods with no shelter from the weather, without seating or accessible washrooms. HaMoked also complained of humiliating and cruel treatment by security guards at the government bureau. HaMoked demands a clarification regarding the interior ministry’s actions to change the situation. Document available in Hebrew.
